How safe is surgery for my pet?
Once a procedure is recommended for your pet our team will explain the ins and outs of the surgery, the benefits and potential risks. We follow strict procedures to ensure all patients have a successful surgery and recovery. Once we schedule a procedure for your pet, we perform pre-anesthetic testing. Our veterinarians will perform blood tests to check your pet’s health status, and from the results, they determine how much anesthesia to use during the procedure.
In our operating room, our doctors are always supported by one or more veterinary technicians. The technicians monitor your pet’s vital signs with modern equipment. They ensure your pet’s heart rate, oxygen and blood pressure levels remain stable. The anesthesia is given to your pet intravenously and we provide them with oxygen.
